During a recent Cars & Coffee event in Raleigh, NC I had the opportunity to see two brand new 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustangs. They were both beautiful versions of the latest GT500 that boasts 650+ horsepower. For the money it is hard to beat the GT500 compared to other high performance vehicles; the 2013 GT500 is listing at $55k+ and pound-for-pound is worth every penny particularly from a performance standpoint. Enjoy the photos from the recent event and read more by following this link: C&D.
This past weekend I attended the Mustangs of Burlington annual car show and got an up close view of the new 2013 Mustang Boss 302. The owner had apparently taken delivery earlier in the week and was able to display the car at the car show. Check out the photos that I took of all the cars at the car show by following this link: http://edkatophotography.photoshelter.com/gallery/Mustangs-of-Burlington-May-2012-Car-Show/G0000IAvVn8hKzfw/. The 2013 Boss 302 that appeared at the car show can be seen in the photos below.
This past weekend I attended the International Auto Show in Raleigh, NC; a sort of mini and I do mean mini, North American International Auto Show held in Detroit. There were several manufactures that were represented including Ford, GM and Chrysler as well as foreign manufactures like Toyota, Fiat, Lexus, Volvo, etc. There were several cars that caught my eye including a Ferrari 458 Italia, a Cadillac CTS-V, a Ferrari FF, an Aston Martin V8 Vantage S, a Ferrari California, a Camaro ZL1, a Corvette ZR1 and a 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302.
Let’s talk specifically about the 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 since it is more in the range of my pocketbook, not to say a thing bad about the aforementioned cars… The model on display at the show was a Grabber Blue version, not my favorite color but still stunning nonetheless. The Boss 302 has a 444 hp 5.0 liter V8 that includes an upgraded intake system and a revised engine tuning coupled to a six speed manual transmission. A 3.73 rear axle that uses carbon fiber plates in its limited slip differential transfers all that power to the rear wheels and speaking of wheels; we’re talking 19 inch wheels sporting Pirelli P Zero tires. Additional exterior details include Brembo front calipers and rotors and a quad exhaust along with adjustable suspension. Meanwhile in the interior there are Recaro designed front seats, a 4.2 inch LCD message center and a four gage instrument cluster. Price range: $43,000+ The 2013 Mustang Boss 302 is due to be available in the spring of this year…
Ford announced the new 2013 Mustang lineup and it all begins with the 2013 Mustang Boss 302 which will boast 444 horsepower coming from a Hi-Po 302 4V Ti-VCT V8 powerhouse. Next is the Shelby GT500 that will sport a 5.8L supercharged V8 engine producing 650 horsepower and the Mustang GT Premium will sport a 5.0L V8 cam torque-actuated Ti-VCT engine producing 420 horsepower!
The 2013 Boss 302 and the GT Premium are due out in the spring of 2012 and the Mustang Shelby GT500 is due out in the summer of 2012. Read more here: http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/2013/.
